Monica Newman Moore
Share:
Monica twined her first bag in 1995 sitting in a Creek Indian living history camp of the 1770 era. Ever since, she has researched the twining technique through archeological remains and surviving textiles in order to rediscover this beautiful and durable way of finger-weaving. She is now one of the leading practitioners of this nearly vanished art and has been commissioned to make reproductions for historical museums. She lives in Tuscaloosa, AL, and is a member of the West Alabama Fiber Guild and the Black Belt Glass Arts Guild.
