Russell is fascinated by anthropology, the natural world, and experiential learning. With 30+ years of experience studying and teaching ancient skills, he holds an MA in ecological anthropology and PhD/ABD in paleoanthropology, teaching Biological Anthropology full-time for Emory University's Oxford College. Russell has been honored by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, and he has served on the board of directors, and instructs/coordinates for Earthskills Rendezvous, Inc. He is the author of three books: Blackbird Dreams, WildFire - Fire Making Art, and Native America Bites Back.
