Emily has been a batik artist for 30 years, exhibited on the festival circuit for 15 years, and has taught a variety of subjects at the Folk School since 2010. She considers herself a "serial artist" with a strong affinity for textile work, including batik, all sorts of dye work, weaving, and felting. She also works in stained glass, plays with lampworking (glass beadmaking), binds books, and creates Ukrainian Easter eggs (pysanky). Emily's formal education includes master's degrees in architecture and accounting -- neither of which she uses. Art is much more fun!
