Cheryl is a weaver, fibre dyer and sock cranker. Her addiction to weaving began with a free floor loom on the side of the road. For the past three years, she has been operating The Barn Studio, which houses more than 20 looms for participants to drop in and create a one of a kind handwoven piece. Cheryl has also offered Guild presentations to the Huronia Handweavers and Kingcraft's; spoken and demonstrated at the Simcoe County Museum, Simcoe County Arts & Crafts Association, and the Ontario Handweavers & Spinners 2019 Conference; participated as a demonstrator at blacksmithing events throughout the USA for the spouse's program; been a guest speaker to the Thornton Historical Society; taught at the Canadian Crank-in Sock Knitting Machine Conference; and she continues to teach private lessons in weaving, fibre dyeing, and sock machine knitting. More recently, Cheryl has acquired a collection of Circular Sock Knitting machines. Sock cranking...good for the sole!
