Cathy Wiggins
Cathy left the corporate world after more than 20 years in telecommunications, to become an artist in 2003. A self-taught quilter, she loves sharing her passion through teaching, lecturing, and judging, and her work has been featured in numerous magazines, TV, and internet shows. Solo exhibitions of her work have been held at the 2015 Machine Quilting Expo, 2016 Road to California showcase (feature artist), 2016 and 2017 Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival, and 2016 International Quilt Association/Houston. Cathy is pioneering the art of quilting on leather by launching her own leather line for the home sewer. Her pieces are held in museum and private collections across the country. In 2016, she was honored for her innovation by having the Machine Quilting Expo’s category for New Traditions in Textiles titled as "The Cathy Wiggins Award."
