Robert Henrickson
Share:
Robert completed his BA in Latin from Vanderbilt and PhD in Near Eastern Studies from the University of Toronto. In forty years as a professional archaeologist working primarily in Turkey, Robert’s research concentrated on pottery dating from 5500-150 BC. Robert returned to Kentucky and lives in Lexington. He has been turning for 15 years, completing numerous vessels, as well as multiaxis, sculptural, and complex spindle work. His vessels are influenced by his archaeological experience and knowledge of classical form. In addition to taking classes in other mediums at the Folk School, Robert has served as Assistant Instructor in turning classes at the Folk School since 2016. In the last ten years, he has frequently demonstrated for regional turning clubs, at the local Woodcraft store, as well as served on the boards of two turning clubs and the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen.
