Vicki Bennett
Share:
Vicki is a fiber artist who lives and works between Asheville, NC, and St. Petersburg, FL. Her primary media are wool felt and natural dyes. Vicki exhibits at Florida CraftArt Gallery and teaches at Morean Arts Center, SAFF, Arrowmont, the Folk School, and other venues. She is active on the board of Local Cloth in Asheville, a nonprofit dedicated to growing the local fiber economy, and she runs her own small fiber business, Tangled Up In Wool. Starting with raw animal fiber and moving it through centuries-old techniques of felting and dyeing is a real joy to her -- from choosing the sheep's wool to collecting flowers, roots, and leaves from her North Carolina dye garden -- resulting in wearable art and vessels in colors that mimic nature.
