Lyn is a fourth-generation storyteller who shares the gifts and heritage of orature from her Affrilachian family. A nationally recognized raconteur, workshop facilitator, and author, Lyn is also a Thurber House mentor to young authors, a teaching artist with the Ohio Alliance for Arts Education and the Ohio Teaching Artists Directory, a certified laughter yoga teacher, a grandmother of ten, and a pretty good cook. An award-winning writer, Lyn's two latest books--Speak Peace: Words of Wisdom, Work and Wonder and Supporting Diversity and Inclusion with Story--(edited and written in collaboration with friend and fellow storyteller Sherry Norfolk) both won the 2021 Storytelling World Resource Award.
