Alan R. is an award winning artist who exhibits his birds of the Appalachians illustrations throughout the Southeast. He is considered one of the top wildlife and birding artists in the Southern Appalachians, often featured in regional publications. Throughout the southeast, he continues to teach beginning and advanced drawing, and watercolor in dry brush. Alan is also the creator of two arts festivals: North Georgia Wildlife Arts Festival in Blue Ridge Georgia (2000 - 2010) and the Sautée Nacoochee Arts Festival (2014 - Present) Presidents Day Weekend.
