Judith has always enjoyed handwork of all kinds. Her introduction to kiltmaking began in 1997, when her daughter began highland dance lessons and needed a kilt. Judith became a student of renowned kiltmaker Elsie Scott Stuehmeyer, who has been making kilts since she was an apprentice at Thomas Gordon & Sons in Glasgow in 1949. Judith began making kilts for customers and now dresses highland dancers, pipers, and Scottish enthusiasts across the U.S. and Canada. She uses traditional methods to produce a perfectly fitting, hand-tailored garment that will give the customer many years of use. She has taught at the Braemar Summer School of Highland Dance & Kilt Making since 2007.
