Ellen Gerber
Share:
Ellen had over 20 years of experience as a multi-media artist and instructor when she and her family relocated to the mountains of North Georgia. Soon after moving to Blairsville, she was introduced to, and fell in love with, the ancient art of scrimshaw. As owner of a working studio and gift shop, Ellen now enjoys spending time scribing images on jewelry, knife handles, and other articles made from legal ivory, bone, and other natural materials of beauty and heirloom quality. Each piece is one of a kind, scribed by hand and initialed. She also enjoys the challenge of commissioned work, along with teaching painting and drawing.
