Mitch Cartledge
Share:
Mitch began carving in the early 1980s out of necessity - as a frugal method of gift-giving. Years later, a chance meeting with carver Tom Wolfe rekindled his interest in creating with wood, and classes with Pete LeClair, Peter Ortel, Desiree Hajny, Gary Falin, and Harold Enlow have since expanded Mitch's skills. His caricature chess set was featured on the cover of the fall 2008 issue of "Woodcarving Illustrated." Mitch is a member of the National Wood Carvers Association, Charlotte Woodcarvers Club, the Catawba Valley Woodcarvers Club, and he has been a member of Caricature Carvers of America since 2009. He especially enjoys mentoring others.
