Tom earned his Leatherwork merit badge when he was a Boy Scout on his way towards earning his Eagle Scout award. After serving for 37 years as an executive director for the Boy Scouts of America, Tom and his wife, Karen, moved to Dahlonega, Georgia, where Tom continued his leatherworking "hobby." Currently he teaches at six venues in northern Georgia and participates in about a dozen art and craft shows per year. He has received ribbons from Honorable Mention to First Place in recognition of his unique artwork and techniques.
