William Jackson
William is an internationally known harper and composer. He has been a major force in Scottish music for decades, was part of the traditional music revival there, and a founding member of the band, Ossian (1976-1989). An innovative composer, William used a mix of traditional and classical musicians in such acclaimed works as "The Wellpark Suite" (1985), "A Scottish Island" (1998), and "Duan Albanach" (2003). His compositions have also been influenced from spending a great deal of his childhood in County Donegal, Ireland, where both his paternal grandparents were from. William has worked as a trained music therapist (Guildhall School of Music) since 1993, in both Scotland and the U.S.
