Ellen is an artist and educator living in Iowa, where she serves as the Executive Director of the Iowa Ceramics Center. Her work is rooted in craft traditions and focuses on the joining to traditional craft material and processes to clay. Ellen's education began at John C. Campbell as a work study student. She received her BFA in Ceramics from The Appalachian Center for Craft and her MFA at Ohio University. Ellen has completed Artist Residences nationally and internationally including in New York City, Hungary, and Czech Republic. With over two decades of experience in the field of craft, Ellen continues to teach and exhibit work nationally. Her work is held in many collections including the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, Medalta , and Museum of Decorative Art in Prague.
