Glenn began woodturning in 2009. His part-time hobby became a burning passion in 2016 when he took his first class at the Folk School, built a new studio, invested in more equipment, joined the Carolina Mountain Woodturners and the American Association of Woodturners. Glenn served as a CMW board director for four years. He serves as a mentor to others and demonstrator for the club. He has participated in numerous turning classes and demonstrations and met with masters in the field to enhance his knowledge of woodturning techniques. After retiring as a corporate project manager in 2017, Glenn became an assistant instructor at the Folk School and was asked to teach classes starting in 2020. He enthusiastically focuses on safety, expanding turning skills, and overall enjoyment of the art of woodturning.
