Kami has a nomadic past with a focus on environmental conservation and humanitarian services. Her experience exposed her to global influences in design and culture and eclectic, natural and man-made environmental aesthetics, and has fostered her desire to create with ecological sensitivity. A second- generation fiber artist, Kami freely explores the traditional art of wet felting as well as the contemporary techniques of nuno (fabric) and laminate (multi fabric layer) felting. She has studied with several master felters and is an award-winning fiber artist. Kami is also a member of multiple craft guilds, including the Southern Highland Craft Guild, Piedmont Craftsmen, and Alabama Designer Craft.
