David Byland

David taught broadcast journalism and film production at the university level for 30 years. He began carving leather about 20 years ago and now provides instruction in advanced leather carving at his local leather store in Alabama. His work has been sold in the gift shop of the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, as well as in other museums and shops in Oklahoma and Alabama, and he creates custom leather products for individuals and corporations. An Exhibiting Member of the Alabama Designer Craftsmen, David has been selected to participate in many juried art shows and enjoys the opportunity to demonstrate his leather work at shows.
