Sarah is a wood engraver and letterpress printer. Letterpress printing was the normal form of printing text for almost 400 years, but was replaced with newer technology. In recent history, it has come back as a vibrant art form with big strides in modernizing the process. Though Sarah has learned how to use these new methods, she has chosen to stick with some of the most traditional processes, like using handset type, and hand-carved, wood engraved images. She works to make innovations within these limitations. As the artist, printer, and mastermind of her business, Questionable Press, she uses these traditional skills and a few tons of equipment to create unique pieces of ephemera.
