Chad Alice has been exploring resist-dyeing and surface design of hand-felted wool since 1979, and bookbinding since the turn of the century. She writes extensively on art and feltmaking, and her work has appeared on the covers of "Surface Design Journal," "Fiberarts," and "Shuttle Spindle & Dyepot." Chad has authored three books: "The Weekend Crafter: Feltmaking," "Fabulous Felt Hats," and "The Fabulous Felt Scarf." She holds BA and MS degrees from the University of Wisconsin and an MFA from Cranbrook, teaches in the U.S. and Europe, and maintains a full-time book and felt studio in Asheville, North Carolina.
