Josh Floyd

Josh has spent most of his life in the Appalachian Mountains and has worked with clay for 20 years. He studied at Fairmont Statue University and Penland School of Craft and has completed artist residencies at the Red Lodge Ceramics Center, the North Carolina Pottery Center, and the Cub Creek Foundation. Just before moving to Brasstown, Josh served as both the Director of Heritage Crafts and a pottery instructor at Montgomery Community College. Since joining the Folk School in 2019, Josh has helped organize community events and served as interim Resident Artist for Clay. As Clay Studio Coordinator, he manages program development, studio maintenance, and community engagement.
