Delanna Reed
Delanna is currently the director of the Storytelling Program at East Tennessee State University. Dr. Reed has taught communication, oral interpretation of literature, and storytelling since 1985. Her degrees span speech and drama (BA), communication & public address (MA), and cultural studies in education (Ph.D.). A singer, guitar player, and storyteller, she collects and tells oral history stories and delights audiences with folktales and original stories from Appalachia and the world. She enjoys telling stories of humor, ghosts, strong women, and social justice. Her favorite stories touch upon the sacred, explore relationships, and expand our understanding of humanity.
