John Martin
John is a studio potter and Eastern Kentucky University instructor living in Berea. He received his BFA from Western Kentucky and MFA from Southern Illinois at Carbondale. His pottery was selected for a "Spotlight" juried exhibition of the American Craft Council Southeast Region. While president of the Berea Craftspersons Assoc., he hosted a woodfire kiln-building workshop with Byron Temple, sponsored by the Kentucky Arts Council. John has served as board member of Kentucky Partners of The Americas and received a travel grant to Ecuador to study with the Quechua Indians. He has been a panelist/facilitator for the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts conference and has published articles in the "NCECA Journal," "Pottery Making Illustrated," and "Studio Potter Newsletter."
