Howard E. is a graduate of Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida. He has been woodcarving since age 7, having learned at an early age from his father. Howard's carvings range from realistic birds and small stylized animals, to mythical and symbolic themes, such as mermaids and Polynesian tikis. In addition to woodcarving, he is an experienced luthier who has made around 100 ukuleles. Having worked as a dental technician for 27 years, he also has experience in lost-wax casting techniques and has crafted fantasy-themed jewelry from gold and silver. Howard is now self-employed as a full-time ukulele maker and woodcarver.
