Michael Kline
Share:
Michael makes utilitarian ceramics with botanical-themed painted and stamped surfaces. A studio potter since 1993, he has mostly worked with wood-fired, salt-glazed stoneware with organic patterns painted onto white slip. After seeing examples of the15th century Korean sanggam etching technique in 2015, Michael has focused on using this, along with floral stamps and contrasting inlays. His work is in the New York Islip Art Museum's collection; the Raleigh, NC, Gregg Museum of Art & Design; and the San Angelo Museum of Fine Art in TX. Michael has a BFA from the Univ. of TN.
