Leif is an environmental scientist, educator and land management consultant focusing on natural processes to address environmental issues. His projects currently explore using fungi for erosion control, water quality management and soil remediation. Leif previously worked as a mushroom cultivator producing gourmet ones for local restaurants and markets. He is a published scientific author, with degrees from Duke University and the Univ. of CA at Santa Cruz in Environmental Chemistry and Ecology. Leif is from western NC and teaches classes all over the country on mushroom cultivation, incorporating fungi into gardening practices, and the scientific mysteries and potential of fungi.
