Jen Mecca
Jen is a functional potter who has been working with porcelain for over 20 years. She has a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and another BFA and MFA from East Carolina University. She has been featured in Ceramics Monthly, Clay Times and Pottery Making Illustrated. Recently the Ceramics Art Network videoed her for their ongoing "Studio Visits" and she is featured on their Ceramics Network. She has taught at Universities, various clay studios and at a private school in her hometown. She sells her work at various galleries up and down the East Coast and is a founding member of the clay group "Thrown Together". Her work is described as whimsical, colorful but useful in everyday life. She has a home studio in Gastonia NC where she lives with her husband, three children and three cats.
