William Claude Hogan
Share:
William Claude became hooked on Sacred Harp's shaped-note system, singing style, and community traditions in 1996, in Mobile, Alabama. He met his wife, Nancy, doing church music and they've both enjoyed early 20th-century editions of "The Sacred Harp" (Cooper; Denson), "The Christian Harmony," and "The Colored Sacred Harp." Bill and Nancy now regularly join with singing friends in the Montgomery area, attend regional Sacred Harp and Christian Harmony conventions, and work with the Alabama Folklife Association on singings.
