Richard has a long-lived passion for cartooning, starting with the Sunday comics. That passion now extends into his love for caricature carving. He has won ribbons through the Caricature Carvers of America competition, his best being a 2016 blue ribbon in the relief category with his "One More for the Road" pilot carving. Richard and his wife live in Virginia but his childhood in Nebraska makes him a lifelong Cornhusker.
