William is Photography Managing Editor for Science Magazine, the American Association for Advancement of Science flagship publication. He manages a staff of photography editors, providing images for Science's print and digital publications, and works with senior editors to create visualization of complex science topics. William previously served as National Geographic Magazine's Editor for Special Editions. He has written for their magazine and website, including the December 2006 Cassini Saturn mission cover story. Douthitt's work at Science and National Geographic has been often recognized in the Pictures of the Year competition. He has a communications B.A. from the University of Washington and a science writing M.A. from Johns Hopkins University.
