Tad is a retired law enforcement officer with the Lexington, NC Police Department. He served thirty years before retiring as Chief of Police in April 2015. Tad earned an Associate's Degree at Davidson-Davie Community College in 1983 and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Western Carolina University in 2005. He has been teaching Leadership for Law Enforcement Supervisors, Firearms and other related topics at Davidson-Davie Community College since 1989. In 2016, Tad began as a Law Enforcement Training Coordinator in Public Safety Services at Davidson-Davie Community College on a part-time basis. After retiring from the police department, he picked up his grandfather's whittling knife and now hand carves wooden spoons using only green wood. His spoons are all carved from tree to table and are made to use daily. Tad and his wife, Elizabeth, have three grown children and two grandsons.
