Heidi was born in Hawaii and the ukulele has been with her since the beginning. Throughout a life-long career in entertainment, acting on stage, film and television as well as performing music, she has honed her resilience, humor and presence - all of which make her a great teacher. McCabe's Guitar Shop in Santa Monica, CA has been musical home-base for more than a decade, where she has enjoyed teaching, performing on their renowned stage and organizing the McUkeFest. Her Sukey Jump Band has won Parent's Choice awards and performed at museums and festivals across the country. She particularly enjoys presenting multi-generational and cultural events in libraries and playing and teaching at ukulele festivals around the world with her partner, Daniel Ward. She is a contributing editor to Ukulele Magazine, and "kind-of " has both a Grammy (for her contribution on a Children's compilation album) and an Emmy (for her work on the series Seinfeld). They are kept in a box in the attic.
