Diana turns bowls with solar power on a remote Pacific Northwest island - teased by complex bark and intense grain; cracks and voids then become a further draw. These elements are the design cues she follows to create each piece. As the lathe spins, the joys of exploration guide her final forms. Occasionally these delightful imperfections are preserved by carefully placed hardwood ties adding a discreet elegance. When held in one's hands; gentle curves and soft finishes are the final reward. Diana's work has been seen at the Smithsonian, Philadelphia and American Craft Council shows. From 2010- 2017 she had yearly shows at the Kirsten Gallery in Seattle, WA. She was also Invited to the AAW POP show in 2021. Find her on Instagram: @What_the_wood-wants
