Alex Greenwood
Alex has been working with molten glass since 2001. His training includes a two-year apprenticeship in flameworking and study of off-hand glass blowing at the Appalachian Center for Craft. He has been teaching and assisting in glass classes at the Folk School since 2005. Alex was voted Best Glass Artist in western North Carolina by the readers of "Mountain Xpress" in 2012. He co-founded and co-owned Asheville Glass Center, which sold in 2016 to become the nonprofit North Carolina Glass Center, and he continues to teach for that organization.
