Riley is a retired research analyst from the U.S. Army who has been carving wildfowl since 1990. He strives for realism of his subject and has won numerous awards, including the Ward World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition. He has studied with world-class carvers Bob Guge, Rosalyn Daisy, Floyd Scholz, Lonnie Dye, and Carl & Regan Danos. Riley enjoys teaching and sharing his woodcarving skills with others. He is a member of the National Woodcarvers Association, the Ward Foundation, and North Alabama Woodcarvers.
