Bill Roeder
Bill is a co-founder, with Judy Zugish, of Fishsticks Basketry in Marysville, WA, where he has taught techniques in reed, skeined willow, and bamboo for 20 years. He has spent the last 10 years teaching German skeined willow in the German tradition, which includes preparation of materials. Bill began studying skeined willow in 2003 with Alfred Schneider, retired director of German National Basketry School in Lichtenfels, Germany, and has returned to work with Alfred in 2005, 2007, 2011, 2015, and 2017, and with Herr Popp, another retired director of the school, in 2018. Bill has also studied and worked with many willow masters in Germany, Switzerland, Slovakia, and The Netherlands.
