Carole is an artisan broom maker and basket weaver residing in Northeast Georgia. She began broom making at the Folk School and continues studying and honing her craft in other folk settings in the Southeast. Carole is an artist-in-residence at the Foxfire Museum and Heritage Center in Rabun County, GA. There, she gives demonstrations for visitors of all ages and has taught broom making classes during Children's Heritage Days. A retired music teacher, she enjoys sharing her unique broommaking and basket weaving artistry with others to perpetuate these distinctive traditions.
