Marcy Chapman
Share:
Marcy as experienced a delightful journey via paintbrush and pen as a professional artist, writer and teacher. After earning a BA in English and Speech she began teaching, but soon discovered the “artist within” and a love of Japanese Art. The study of Asian brush painting and watercolor painting prompted a career change. Opportunities came in the form of exhibiting in national juried fine art shows, being published internationally and representation by a New York gallery. Marcy continually studies with several renowned teachers in Sumi-e and Ikebana, recently earning teacher level(sensei) from Japan in Ikebana. Enjoying a lifetime practice of the watercolor, Japanese arts of Sumi-e, Haiku, and Ikebana, it seemed appropriate to create a format where she could share these artistic pleasures with others. Marcy currently paints and writes from her studio in Sarasota, Florida.
