Steve Fasen
Share:
Steve holds a BS degree in K-12 art education and an MA in ceramics and watercolor. He has studied ceramics in his travels around the world, but primarily follows a Japanese aesthetic, influenced by study in the late 1970s under Tatsuzo Shimaoka, Living National Treasure of Mashiko, Japan. Steve began as an art teacher in the '70s and is now retired, living in Florida. His current studio work is utilitarian-based, cone 6 oxidation ceramics, with glazes in a color spectrum of environmental influence. He also continues to train and teach martial arts. With a background in karate, sword, and Aikido that spans 40 years, he finds an incredible association of the principles in ceramics to his teaching of Aikido, and life in general.
