Traditional Bark Basketry Date: Friday, June 11 - Sunday, June 13, 2021 Subject: Basketry Instructor: Mark Hendry Share: Harvest bark from logs and fold into useful, beautiful baskets. Learn many techniques taught by indigenous cultures in Appalachia and craft several different styles of folded bark baskets. Incorporate other barks and natural materials as you assemble, stitch, and add rims, handles, and décor to create one-of-a-kind artisan pieces. Each student will leave with several bark baskets and the know-how to complete more. All levels welcome, but some hand strength is required.
