The Art of Gourd Banjo Building Date: Sunday, July 4 - Sunday, July 11, 2021 Subject: Woodworking, Music Instructor: Jeff Menzies Share: Week + Weekend. This class continues through July 11. Create a gourd banjo of your own design with step-by-step guidance. Work with Jamaican goat skin, provided by the instructor who is a Kingston, Jamaica resident. Learn health and safety procedures, instrument design, woodcarving, gourd carving, and tool use. In addition to making your own instrument, you'll also be introduced to the Caribbean and African history of the banjo. No woodworking experience is required.
