Bias woven structures are seen in countless museum baskets and in everyday use. This weaving technique is a special skill and its clever vessel making patterns are useful in a rich variety of shapes and materials. Begin by learning concepts with paper templates, then progress to a basket woven with copper strips and hand-prepped willow barks grown in the instructor's fiber arts garden. A variety of finishing techniques will be discussed and peeled spruce root will be provided. Suitable for beginners, with all levels welcome.
