Date: Sunday, July 17 - Saturday, July 23, 2022
Subject: Woodturning, Woodworking
Instructor: Wyatt Severs
Share:

Learn the fundamentals of woodturning while building a chair. Use the lathe to make shapes such as coves, swells, flats, and beads, creating a wooden mallet to fit your hand. Build on your knowledge by designing and creating chair legs, stretchers, and spindles, then attach those parts to a seat using a wedged-through mortise and tenon joint. We'll discuss how to sand for a smooth finish that reveals the uniqueness of each piece of wood. We'll also learn different methods for assembling and clamping and review different types of glues and finishes. Note: Additional materials fee is estimated from $175-$200. PLEASE NOTE: This class is for 12-17 year olds to attend with a parent, grandparent, or guardian -- 1 youth per 1 adult.
