Contemporary Black Ash Baskets Date: Monday, Oct 3 - Saturday, Oct 8, 2022 Subject: Basketry Instructor: JoAnn Kelly Catsos Share: Design and create your own contemporary works of art using black ash splint. Start with traditional plaited construction techniques, then push the boundaries of what a basket can be. Learn to bend hardwood handles and rims, create shapes on and off molds, and investigate the mathematics of woven twill patterns. Finish your baskets with stain or dye. Students can expect to complete a minimum of two projects. All levels welcome. Note: Additional materials fee is estimated from $125-$200.
