Book Artistry - Inside and Out Date: Monday, Oct 3 - Saturday, Oct 8, 2022 Subject: Book Arts, Woodworking Instructor: Jane Burke, Anne Murray Share: Create unique books with marquetry-adorned wooden covers, ideal for guest registries, journals, or holiday gifts. Marquetry is the art of applying veneer to form decorative patterns, designs, or pictures. The Secret Belgian binding technique we'll use (neither a secret nor specifically Belgian) creates a decorative stitch that will complement the wood/marquetry covers. Practice with a small paperback book and a sample piece of marquetry, then fashion at least one wood-covered book with marquetry design. No prior experience needed.
